AJP’s Kunki files FIR over AI video

Guwahati: AJP candidate from Guwahati Central constituency, Kunki Chowdhury, on Saturday filed an FIR at the Cyber Police Station, alleging the circulation of an AI-generated video featuring her.According to the complaint, the AI-generated video has been shared across social media platforms using multiple unidentified accounts, raising serious concerns about misinformation. Chowdhury said the incident was a deliberate attempt to malign her reputation and hinder her campaign, and also dragged her mother, Sujata Gurung Chowdhury, into controversy.“A few individuals, including Balen Baishya, Biswajit Barman, and Abhigyan Dihingiya, who work in the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha media cell in Dhemaji, are circulating false allegations about me and my family, and I do not understand why they have stooped so low,” Chowdhury told the media.Cyber police station OC Chandan Das, while speaking to TOI, said a case has been registered.This comes days after CM Himanta Biswa Sarma targeted Chowdhury’s mother over an alleged post about beef consumption, claiming she had expressed support for ‘anti-national’ elements.
