Akhilesh Yadav celebrates Holi in UP's Saifai and outlines SP push for 2027 elections

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav celebrated Holi with his family and party workers in Saifai.

SAIFAI: SP chief Akhilesh Yadav travelled from Lucknow to his village Saifai on Wednesday and celebrated Holi with phoolon wali Holi along with his family members, villagers and party workers at the SP’s Holi Milan Samaroh.On the occasion, he said, "merely wearing saffron clothes doesn't make someone a Yogi... the one who understands another's pain is the real Yogi...'"Akhilesh played Holi with flowers along with party workers and leaders. Langdi Faag was sung amid a shower of flowers in the party office premises. Young workers kept dancing to dhol-nagadas in front of the stage. They raised slogans of 'Akhilesh Yadav Zindabad.'Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Aditya Yadav, Akhilesh's daughter Aditi Yadav, MP Jitendra Dohre, and MLA Rekha Verma along with several prominent leaders were present at the Holi Milan Samaroh.

The SP chief said, "our revered Shankaracharya is aggrieved and distressed. We stand with him. Whoever is aggrieved and distressed, Samajwadis will stand with them. Shankaracharya was not allowed to bathe at the most revered place of Sanatan. Even after his fast, he was not given respect. Such cases were filed against him that are typically filed in panchayat elections."Akhilesh gave a message on preparations for the 2027 assembly elections.

He said, "the stronger the preparation, the easier it will be to form the government. In 2012, the government was formed after Holi; now we have to deliver an even bigger victory. There are 403 assembly seats in UP. The days are few and the assembly seats are many."Referring to recent election results, he said, "that we have defeated them. They have realized how they were defeated. This time too, they have to be defeated with the strength of PDA.

The slogan of PDA is bigger than every other slogan."Taking a dig at the chief minister's Japan visit, Akhilesh said, "first an MoU of Rs 50 lakh crore was signed. Now they have come back after signing an MoU of Rs 1 lakh crore. This is the first Chief Minister who is going on tours before his farewell."
