“I am very happy that Alexander Isak wants to be in the squad, he is a huge player," Tomasson said.
“The situation he is in is not perfect and he has not trained with the team.
“But he is a player who can decide matches and he wants to be part of our squad. The World Cup is important for Alexander Isak."

Isak has openly expressed his desire to move to Liverpool. However, Newcastle, who have qualified for the UEFA Champions League, are keen to retain the Swedish forward, as they have not yet found an ideal replacement for the 25-year-old in the transfer market.
Following his inclusion in the PFA Team Of The Year, Isak shared his aspirations and situation on social media. Despite this, Newcastle defended their position and left room for Isak’s reintegration into the team, given that he still has a contract with the club.
Many Newcastle supporters have turned their backs on Isak due to his refusal to travel with the team during the pre-season tour, which they found unacceptable. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe suggested that fans should focus on his performances, as these could help him regain their support.
Eddie Howe stated that he would wait and see how Isak’s situation unfolds before bringing him back into the main squad. He also mentioned that the public attention surrounding the transfer saga was undesirable and would have preferred to handle it within the club.
