Jodhpur: All eight women whose condition deteriorated after undergoing caesarean section deliveries at Paota District Hospital in Jodhpur on June 20 have recovered, officials said Monday.Two women, Sonu and Lalita, who were shifted from the district hospital to MDM Hospital and later to AIIMS after their condition turned critical, are now out of danger. District collector Alok Ranjan said Lalita was discharged on Monday after being taken off ventilator support two days earlier, while Sonu has been shifted from the ICU to the general ward. He said Sonu is diabetic and had developed kidney-related complications.The six other women, who were treated at the district hospital, have also been discharged after recovery.SN Medical College principal Dr B S Jodha said doctors were in regular contact with all eight women and were monitoring their health through daily follow-up calls. He said all of them were in stable condition at home.“We are continuously in touch with them. Our docors are taking updates on their health daily by calling them up,” Dr Jodha said.
The gynaecology operation theatre, which was closed after the condition of the women worsened, has resumed operations following a negative culture report.Ranjan said reports from two inquiry committees, one constituted by the medical college and the other by AIIMS, are awaited. “Besides this, the report of medicines administered to these women is also to be obtained yet”, said Ranjan, adding that no lapse, however, on the part of the procedure and doctors has been noted.The eight women developed complications due to blood loss a few hours after undergoing caesarean sections at Paota District Hospital on June 20. Two of them were later shifted to AIIMS after their condition became critical.
