All families in phase-I to be included in micro plan

SLUG- Wayanad RehabilitationKozhikode: Minister for agriculture T Siddique said that all families in Phase One of the rehabilitation programme for Wayanad landslide victims will be included in the state govt’s micro plan entrepreneurship scheme.

He also said that the financial assistance for beneficiaries under the scheme has been increased to Rs 2 lakh per family.The minister made the announcement after beneficiaries brought to his attention some complaints that many families had not received the funds previously sanctioned under the scheme.Beneficiaries highlighted the matter after a housewarming event organized by the ‘Phase One Association’ at the new township for landslide survivors on Sunday. They also complained that families, who had recently moved into their new homes, lacked adequate waste management facilities. The decision is expected to bring an end to the long-standing controversy surrounding the micro plan scheme.The Phase One Association comprises 178 beneficiaries who have already received the keys to houses completed in the first phase of Wayanad township.
