Patna: Alumni came together at Magadh Mahila College on Sunday for a grand reunion organised by Patna University (PU), as nonagenarians and octogenarians reminisced about their campus days, reconnected with old batchmates, and celebrated the institution’s 108-year legacy.The attendees included 98-year-old Keshav Pratap Singh, 96-year-old Shashidhar Singh and over a dozen other nonagenarians and octogenarians, all of whom enjoyed the occasion by meeting batchmates, juniors and current students. Some alumni, including women, even took part in musical chair events, defying age-related constraints.Prominent personalities present on the occasion included Patna University vice-chancellor Namita Singh, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar, former DGP Alok Raj, Patna High Court justice Sanjay Kumar, Bihar State University Service Commission chairman Girish Kumar Chaudhary, Bihar Religious Trust Board chairman Ranbir Nandan, and higher education director Navin Kumar Agrawal.
A general body meeting of the alumni association was held under the chairmanship of former PU vice-chancellor Rash Bihari Prasad Singh, during which alumni resolved to extend all possible support to present students in their academic pursuits and career growth. A musical programme was also organised.Magadh Mahila College principal N P Verma welcomed the participants, while the association’s general secretary, Atul Aditya Pandey, proposed a vote of thanks.
