Alvaro Arbeloa Speaks Out As Real Madrid Push Trent Alexander-Arnold To Find New Club: Report

Real Madrid head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has reportedly put his trust in Trent Alexander-Arnold and doesn’t want the star footballer to look out for other clubs, even as rumours continue over the latter’s early exit from the Spanish team.

As per Jose Felix Diaz of AS, Arbeloa is waiting for Alexander-Arnold to regain fitness and return to training. He hasn’t asked Trent to find a new club, despite joining Santiago Bernabéu a few months ago.

Earlier reports this week indicated that Real Madrid were planning to sell Alexander-Arnold, claiming he has no future at the club under the new manager. Fresh reports have squashed the exit talks, adding that Arbeloa has blind trust in Trent’s capabilities.

Alexander-Arnold became the eighth British footballer to join Los Blancos last summer after letting his Liverpool contract run down. Real Madrid paid €10 million to bag his transfer a month before his contract expired, ensuring he could take part in the FIFA World Cup.

“It was never a question of where; it was whether to go or not to go. I have known for a long time that if I were to ever leave Liverpool, it would only be to go to Real Madrid," Alexander-Arnold had said.

However, things have not gone as planned at Los Blancos, with injuries limiting his game time. Alexander-Arnold has missed 23 games this season because of muscle problems and a hamstring injury, featuring in just 16 matches.

Alexander-Arnold has suffered a thigh injury, his club Real Madrid said in December, with Spanish media speculating that he faces two months out. It needs to be seen if he is available for the La Liga game against Valencia on February 9.

Alexander-Arnold provided the assist for Real Madrid’s opening goal in a 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in December, his first in La Liga, before being forced off in the second half because of injury.
