Elon Musk said that he is officially launching the America Party, ending the two-party system in the US. The Tesla CEO conducted a poll on July 4 -
US Independence Day
asking X (formerly Twitter) users whether
America Party
should be formed. “Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system! Should we create the America Party?,” he wrote in a Twitter post on July 4. Announcing the poll result in a post earlier today, Musk wrote: “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!”. Adding further, he said “When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.” Musk first floated the idea to form a political party if the Trump administration’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ gets passed by the congress. With the latest post, he has made it official that he is indeed forming a new political party. However, it remains unclear if the party has been registered with the US election authorities. The most recent
Federal Election Commission
(FEC) filings showed no indication of any registration so far. Also, the tech billionaire did not share any other details of his America Party.
Elon Musk shares a roadmap of how he intends to break the ‘uniparty system’
In another post, Musk shared a roadmap of how he aims to crack the uniparty system. “The way we’re going to crack the uniparty system is by using a variant of how Epaminondas shattered the myth of Spartan invincibility at Leuctra: Extremely concentrated force at a precise location on the battlefield,” he wrote on X.
