Essential travel companion for Delhi Airport: Hoi App. All other flights are operating as scheduled. We appreciate your patience and cooperation," the advisory read, according to news agency ANI.Earlier on Tuesday, Air India announced a phased expansion of fuel surcharges on both domestic and international routes, saying the move has been necessitated by a steep rise in jet fuel prices linked to the geopolitical situation in the Gulf region. In a statement, the airline said aviation turbine fuel (ATF), which accounts for nearly 40 per cent of an airline’s operating costs, has witnessed a significant price escalation since early March 2026 due to supply disruptions."In India, this pressure is amplified by high Excise Duty and VAT on ATF in major metro cities such as Delhi and Mumbai, magnifying cost... and placing substantial strain on airline operating economics," the statement said.According to the airline, the new fuel surcharge will be implemented in three phases and will apply to travel on all flights, including those operated by Air India Express. The developments come as tensions in West Asia continue to escalate following the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a joint strike by the US and Israel on February 28, triggering retaliatory attacks by Tehran on Israeli and US military assets in the region. In a recent development, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched multiple fresh waves under its retaliatory “Operation True Promise 4”. The force said the “37th wave” of the operation was carried out late Tuesday night.
