Amit Shah Congratulates PM Modi on Becoming India's Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he became India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister.
PM Modi, today, crossed the milestone of 4,399 consecutive days in office, surpassing the record held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The achievement has drawn congratulatory messages from political leaders, Union ministers, global dignitaries and members of the Indian diaspora.
Amit Shah hails PM Modi’s leadership
In a message marking the occasion, Shah described the achievement as a historic milestone and praised Modi’s contribution over the past 12 years.
“Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji on achieving the historic milestone of serving the people as the longest-serving elected Prime Minister of the country," Shah said, adding, that the past 12 years have been focused on restoring India’s pride, encouraging a cultural renaissance and freeing the country from “a mentality of servitude".
Shah listed several initiatives and developments that took place during Modi’s tenure.
He said the new Parliament building was constructed, three new criminal laws were implemented and the National Education Policy created opportunities for medical and engineering education in mother tongues.
He also said the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat had become a national resolve.
