CHANDIGARH: The Ravi River has continued to rise in Amritsar, leaving rescue teams struggling to reach residents trapped in floodwaters.The Ramdas area, which was still accessible to vehicles on Wednesday, is now completely submerged. District officials, led by deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, switched to tractors to oversee operations after roads became impassable.Army personnel arrived late on Wednesday with boats to support the rescue, in case tractors or other vehicles failed in the rising waters.Evacuations are ongoing, with around 40 villages affected by the flooding so far.
