The Texas Super Kings returned to winning ways with a convincing 22-run victory over the San Francisco Unicorns in Match 8 of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 at the Oakland Coliseum.

Defending a target of 162, the Super Kings produced a disciplined bowling performance to bowl out the Unicorns for 139 in 17.4 overs and secure their second win of the tournament.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Texas Super Kings made a steady start courtesy of captain Faf du Plessis and Saiteja Mukkamalla. The opening pair added 59 runs for the first wicket, laying a solid platform for the innings. Du Plessis led from the front with a fluent 40 off 24 deliveries, while Mukkamalla contributed a valuable 36.The Unicorns clawed their way back into the contest through Brody Couch (2/42) and Ghulam Mudassar (2/30), who struck at regular intervals to slow Texas' progress. However, Donovan Ferreira provided the late impetus with a powerful knock of 45 off just 28 balls, helping the Super Kings post a competitive total of 161/8 from their 20 overs.

In response, the San Francisco Unicorns endured a disastrous start as the Texas pace attack applied immediate pressure.

Opener Matthew Short attempted to keep the chase alive with an aggressive 28, but wickets continued to tumble at the other end.The innings never gained momentum as Texas bowlers maintained tight control throughout the chase. Amshi de Silva emerged as the standout performer, producing a match-winning spell of 4/28 to dismantle the Unicorns' batting lineup. Despite some resistance from the lower order, San Francisco failed to recover from their early setbacks and were eventually bowled out for 139 in 17.4 overs.
