Andhra Pradesh officials to study Yokohama’s urban development

A team of officials from Andhra Pradesh, led by S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, will visit Yokohama, Japan, from September 9 to 13 to meet city delegates, as well as officials from leadership and technical departments.

Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand issued GO RT No. 1637 on Monday, authorising Mr. Suresh Kumar, Mr. G. Surya Sai Praveen Chand, Additional Commissioner, APCRDA, and Mr. Mallarapu Naveen, Additional Commissioner, APCRDA, to participate in a review and study of Yokohama’s models in climate action, smart urban infrastructure, use of technology in city management, and economic development.

The visit aims to identify best practices from Japan that can be adopted in Amaravati, the state capital, according to officials from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department.
