APCC president Y.S. Sharmila on Friday criticised the job calendar released by the State government, saying “Vacancies are in plenty, but notifications are scarce.”
In a post on X, Ms. Sharmila said, after keeping the unemployed youth waiting for two years, the TDP-led NDA government disappointed them. “This is nothing but blatant deception,” she said, adding that a schedule was released for a mere 10,000 posts for which the government claimed that it had fulfilled its promise under the “Job First” policy.
She spoke about the “30,000 teaching and non-teaching vacancies in the Education Department, the 19,999 posts in the Police Department, the 20,000 vacant engineering posts, the 26,000 recruitments in the Panchayati Raj Department, the 27,000 vacancies identified in Municipal Administration, 13,000 vacant posts in Revenue Department, 26,000 in the Health Department and 3,000 in the Agriculture Department,” and said there were as many as 1.80 lakh vacant posts across 153 departments in the State.
“After two years in power, the government has notified only 10,000 posts. Even if 20% of vacancies are filled annually, at least 50,000 jobs should have been filled in two years,” she argued. She demanded that the government undertake large-scale recruitment and ensure justice to the unemployed youth.
