Andhra Pradesh shocker: Man kills mother over delay in bringing water from fridge

KAKINADA: A woman who was allegedly brutally attacked by her son for merely delaying in bringing cold water from the refrigerator in Chitrada village under Pithapuram police station limits succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital (GGH), Kakinada, on Saturday.Police have registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and arrested the accused at Chitrada Bridge on Monday.According to G Srinivas, Inspector, Pithapuram Circle, Penta Nagamani (45), a resident of EBC Colony, served lunch to her son Rajababu on June 9. While eating, he asked her to bring water from the refrigerator. Infuriated by the slight delay in getting the water, Rajababu allegedly started shouting and rushed towards the refrigerator, accidentally hitting a doorway and injuring himself.In an alleged fit of rage, he turned on his mother, who was bringing him the water at the time, and smashed her head against a wooden bench in the prayer room. Nagamani collapsed on the floor with severe head injuries and was bleeding profusely.Her husband, Trimurthulu, and other relatives reached home and rushed the injured woman to GGH, Kakinada. Nagamani, who had been undergoing treatment there, died on Saturday.
