Animal Husbandry Department felicitates outstanding employees with Independence Day awards

The Animal Husbandry Department honoured 67 employees for their exceptional services, during a State-level felicitation ceremony held at the directorate office, Vet Home, Vijayawada, on Wednesday (August 20). The event, organised in connection with the 79th Independence Day celebrations, was presided over by Director of Animal Husbandry T. Damodara Naidu.

Dr. Naidu stressed the importance of ensuring that government schemes reach even the remotest parts of the State. He called upon employees to work in line with the government’s vision and contribute to the ‘Swarna Andhra 2047’ goals. He emphasised the need for Andhra Pradesh to maintain its leadership in milk, egg and meat production across the country.

He noted that the awards were instituted to motivate employees to render distinguished services in advancing animal husbandry and supporting farmers’ livelihoods.

Those felicitated included a Joint Director, three district animal husbandry officers, five deputy directors, seven assistant directors, eight veterinary assistant surgeons, one statistician, eight office staff, 12 para-veterinary workers, four livestock assistants, four disease diagnostic lab staff and three Gopala Mitras. Each awardee was presented with a memento and a shawl.

Senior officials of the department, employee association members, awardees and other dignitaries participated in the programme.
