According to the India Today report, Ranbir Kapoor shared that when Sandeep Reddy Vanga narrated the story to him, he "found the character extremely scary to approach as an actor. But his confidence instilled confidence in me, too."The actor stated that his character Ranvijay in the film is someone who is "protective, volatile, and deeply emotional." The actor added that the character would go to any extent to protect his family.

Kapoor said, "I think that's an emotion that we can connect with in any part of the world."

The filmmaker shared that after the narration, he could see the actor being "really scared."The director added, "It took a while for me, after the first narration, to give him the bound script, and only then did we get a complete yes to go ahead."
