Ankit Gera recently revisited Agra, where he explored the city’s historic landmarks and bustling streets. The actor says experiencing the Taj Mahal as an adult gave him a fresh appreciation for its craftsmanship, while the trip also offered him an opportunity to reconnect with the city’s rich cultural and architectural heritage
Revisiting the Taj Mahal after many years gave Ankit Gera a renewed appreciation for one of India’s most iconic monuments. Returning as an adult, the actor found himself noticing details that had escaped him during his first visit as a teenager.
He says, “I’ve visited the Taj Mahal only twice. I first came here when I was just 15 years old, and now, returning as an adult, I’m completely amazed. Coming from a real estate and hospitality background, I can now appreciate the gemstones inlaid in the marble, the intricate architecture and every fine detail with a new perspective. The immense hard work that went into creating it centuries ago stands out even more, and the way it's managed today left me truly inspired.
” The visit also gave Ankit an opportunity to explore Agra beyond its most famous landmark. He says, “I explored the vibrant city of Agra. Beyond the Taj Mahal, it has incredible monuments like Agra Fort, the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah and bustling bazaars. I wandered through the narrow lanes, soaked in the Mughal architecture and felt a deep connection with the city’s history.” His stay in the city proved just as memorable. He shares, “I stayed at Taj Hotel in Agra, and it was a wonderful experience.
The brand itself is iconic, but the hospitality exceeded my expectations. From the warm welcome to the seamless service, everything was thoughtfully done. The atmosphere was luxurious yet inviting, and the food was excellent. I’m grateful to the entire team for making my stay so memorable.” Away from travel, Ankit has also become more selective about his acting assignments. Last seen in Nath – Zewar Ya Zanjeer three years ago, he explains why stepping away from television was a conscious decision. “I’ve been based in Delhi for over seven years now. As an actor, financial stability is important to me, so I joined my family business. While I’ve stepped away from television for good, I continue to take up selective projects that don’t demand too much of my time.
