Naomi Osaka, who is no stranger to outlandish fashion apparel and couture, stunned the world yet again with her golden accessories on her mouth and ear ahead of her Indian Wells clash against Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva on Saturday.

Osaka, who posted a 7-5, 6-2 win over Kasintseva, followed up her rose-bedazzled outfit and hat & veil outfit at the AO with yet another eye-catching drip at the event in California.

Osaka walked out onto the court in her custom-designed gold ear cuffs modelled to wrap around her ear and hold earbuds, in addition to a tribal-inspired gold jewelry that hooks onto her lips. She complemented the look with her cheetah-print Nike outfit, jacket, and bespoke sneakers.

The Japanese superstar admitted she was uncertain about what to expect from her 97th-ranked opponent in their first encounter. More significantly, she was unsure of her own performance in her first match since withdrawing from the Australian Open third-round due to an abdominal injury.

“It wasn’t, like, too positive," she said of her build up to Indian Wells.

Osaka, however, started strong, winning the first four games and taking a 5-1 lead. However, Jimenez Kasintseva claimed the next three games, breaking Osaka’s serve twice to even the set, before the 16th-ranked player regained her composure.

Despite the setbacks, Osaka was pleased to have improved from her disappointing first-round loss to Camila Osorio in the California desert last year, a match she dishearteningly described as the worst match she ever played.

“I was really disappointed at the Australian Open, because it’s something that I have done to myself before, and I feel like every year I go through that specific injury.

“Every year I can kind of feel it starting to happen. I was just really disappointed in myself, and then ironically, we were training and I injured myself — I did another injury.

“Hopefully, that’s enough injuries for the whole year," Osaka said. “I’m just grateful to be out here and be playing."
