A WNBA game was interrupted again by a sex toy thrown onto the court, raising security concerns. Players Elizabeth Williams and Isabelle Harrison called for stronger measures.

WNBA's Chicago Sky (X)
For the second time in a matter of days, a WNBA game was interrupted by an unexpected and inappropriate object thrown onto the court — a sex toy, drawing concern from players and calls for stronger security measures across the league.
The latest incident occurred during the Golden State Valkyries’ 73–66 win over the Chicago Sky, when play was halted in the third quarter after officials noticed a sex toy lying just out of bounds beneath one of the baskets.
A game official was seen on video kicking the item away from the playing area before it was promptly removed by staff.
Sky center Elizabeth Williams didn’t mince words during the postgame press conference.
“It’s super disrespectful," Williams said. “I don’t really get the point of it. It’s really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up."
Second Incident This Week Raises Alarms
This wasn’t an isolated occurrence. Just three days earlier, during the Valkyries’ 77–75 road win against the Atlanta Dream in College Park, Georgia, a similar object was hurled onto the court in the final minute of the fourth quarter. That item — described as a green sex toy — landed near players as tensions were already high in a close finish.
Valkyries forward Cecilia Zandalasini addressed the incident candidly after the game.
“I mean, first of all, it was super dangerous," she said. “And then when we found out what it was, I guess we just started laughing. I’ve never seen anything like that. I’m just glad we worked through that situation. We stayed locked in, we stayed concentrated."
Player Safety and Fan Conduct Under Scrutiny
While the players showed professionalism in continuing the games despite the disruptions, the repeated nature of these incidents has sparked growing concern around security and fan behavior.
Isabelle Harrison, a forward for the New York Liberty, expressed frustration on social media, directing her comments toward venue management and the league.
“ARENA SECURITY?! Hello??!" Harrison posted on X. “Please do better. It’s not funny. Never was funny. Throwing ANYTHING on the court is so dangerous."
As of Saturday afternoon, the WNBA has not issued an official statement regarding either incident. However, with back-to-back games disrupted by inappropriate fan behavior, pressure is mounting for the league to act decisively.
