The Prince of Wales, Prince William, recently visited the Oxfordshire headquarters of Jaguar TCS Racing, where he took the opportunity to get into a Formula E car for the first time.
He sat in the cockpit of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 and was guided by Jaguar drivers Antonio Felix da Costa and Mitch Evans, who shared insights about the car. The British royal’s visit came soon after the unveiling of the Formula E GEN4 car, which has already impressed motorsport enthusiasts around the world ahead of its official debut in Formula E Season 13.

A glimpse of Prince William’s visit was shared on the official Instagram page of the Prince and Princess of Wales, accompanied by his quote: “An electric visit to the Jaguar TCS Racing headquarters in Kidlington! Incredible to see the world-leading approach to innovation and sustainability in Formula E.
A huge well done to the team as they shift towards an all-electric future.”Jaguar TCS Racing responded to the post, saying: “It was a pleasure to welcome you!”
A video from the visit was also shared with the caption: “Going green with Jaguar TCS Racing and Formula E!”
Sharing a moment from the visit on his Instagram Stories, Antonio Felix da Costa wrote: “Prince William’s visit: a great day.”Chris Thorp, JLR Chief of Staff and Motorsport Executive Chairman, said they were honoured to welcome the Prince of Wales and showcase their work at the Jaguar headquarters.
“Motorsport has always been a powerful platform for technology transfer, and it was a pleasure for team members to share with The Prince the many innovations we have developed in Formula E and how they will ultimately shape the future of all-electric Jaguar road cars. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud His Royal Highness was able to meet many of them today,” Thorp told FormulaE.com.
What’s next in Formula E?
Formula E has been on a month-long break following the Madrid E-Prix.
