'Anupamaa' 17th March 2026 written update: Anupama loses her job as Mahi stands up to Gautam

The 17th March 2026 episode of 'Anupamaa' opened on a light note at the Shah house where Ishani asked Pari to pass her a glass. Pari refused and told her to get it herself. What started as a small thing quickly turned into a playful argument.

Mahi stepped in and suggested they stop fighting and click pictures instead. Pari, Ishani, Rahi, Ansh and Mahi gathered for a cheerful moment and did a cheers. Leela and Hasmukh watched from a distance, happy seeing the younger generation bonding.The mood shifted when Ansh brought up Pranshi. He asked Rahi and Pari to tell him more about her. Pari brushed it off lightly, but Ansh's emotions ran deeper. He said he had a right to talk about her and regretted not being able to see her because of Gautam.

He apologized to Mahi. Ishani added that Anupama had once said there should be no sorry or thank you between them.Rahi decided to call Anupama so everyone could speak to her together. Before making the call she reminded everyone not to say anything that might worry her. Everyone agreed but Mahi stayed unusually quiet. Meanwhile Raja complained to Prem that the group was not letting them in. Prem said to him not to get into the matters and told Jassi to get ready to make lassi to everyone.

Jassi said casually that Ansh was acidic and to avoid lemon.

Prem thought of how Ansh had transformed into someone else whom he used to be: a person without any worries. In a quiet moment, he encouraged Jassi to stop delaying whatever she wanted to confess.

Anupama hides her pain from the family

When the call connected, Anupama became happy seeing everyone together on screen. She asked Mahi if she was fine but Mahi did not respond. Ansh said they used to share everything with her when they were young and still do.

Anupama replied that she does the same, lightening her heart by talking. Rahi asked how she really was. Anupama wanted to cry and let her children handle her pain but being far away she could not burden them.

She hid her pain and said she felt like she was on vacation. Rahi immediately sensed she was lying but stayed quiet, not wanting to add to her load. Anupama too thought her children must be dealing with their own struggles.Rahi noticed the house looked different and asked if Anupama had moved. Anupama said Devika had shifted her there and ended the call after blessing everyone.

Digvijay loses his temper, Jaya becomes a butterfly

Jaya excitedly whistled but Anupama asked her to stop, warning that Digvijay might react. Jaya did not listen and Digvijay arrived and snatched the whistle from her. Anupama apologized on Jaya's behalf. Digvijay then noticed Saavi's belongings in Anupama's room and questioned Banku.

Banku explained he had been cleaning the storeroom and the box was left there. Digvijay ordered him to remove it immediately. While taking it away a trophy fell.

Digvijay warned Jaya not to whistle in his house and told Anupama not to touch his things if she wanted to stay. After he left Jaya got angry. Anupama noticed the items, a newspaper cap, a whistle and the trophy, and quietly wondered what exactly Digvijay had against these things.Despite the tension, Anupama set her focus on preparing Jaya's fancy dress for the school competition. Banku got emotional watching the moment, remembering his own mother. As Jaya roamed the house wearing her butterfly costume, Digvijay caught a glimpse of her and for a brief moment saw Saavi in her. He quietly walked toward Jaya and hugged her, overcome with emotion. When reality set in he pulled away and walked off quietly.

Jaya was thrilled to be a butterfly, completely unaware of the weight of that moment for Digvijay.

Mahi confronts Gautam, Rahi steps in

Back at the Kothari house Mahi asked Gautam why he kept ignoring her and why he had married her when he clearly did not want to be with her. Gautam said they had both decided to marry. Mahi warned that if he did not want to be with her she would speak to Vasundhara. Gautam threatened her and told her to keep her mouth shut. Rahi noticed Mahi was in trouble.Anil was looking for new hires and Rahi suggested Mahi's name. Vasundhara immediately said Mahi was not capable. Gautam also opposed it. Mahi stood her ground and assured everyone she would bring the best designs. Anil decided to discuss it with her. Mahi quietly thanked Rahi. Rahi and Gautam exchanged a loaded glance.

Anupama loses her job because of Paul

Anupama rushed to cook for new guests but the woman told her she was no longer needed. Complaints had been made against her and her services were not required anymore. Anupama looked up and saw Paul nearby. She realised immediately that he was behind it allPrecap: Digvijay scolds Banku for coming late. Anupama steps in and tells Digvijay that Banku is human and not a machine who cannot be expected to be on time always. She tells him to stop hurting others just because he himself is hurting and asks him to consider others' happiness instead of reacting. Both Digvijay and Banku are left stunned by her boldness.
