Child actor Princy Prajapati, known for her role in 'Anupamaa', is making her Bollywood debut in 'Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story'.
Child actor Princy Prajapati, best known for playing Pari Shah in Anupamaa, is set to make her Bollywood debut with Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story. The biographical courtroom drama, based on the life of special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam and the prosecution of 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab, is scheduled to release in theatres on August 7, 2026.The film stars Rajkummar Rao as Ujjwal Nikam and features Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher and Ashish Vidyarthi in key roles. Directed by Avinash Arun, the film is inspired by real-life events.Speaking about being part of the project, Princy says working on a film rooted in reality comes with a different responsibility. “Acting in a movie based on a real incident feels thrilling and real. You step into someone’s true story, not just a script.
It pushes you to honour their pain, joy and choices. The weight of truth makes every scene matter more, and that challenge is what makes it deeply rewarding,” she says. The young actor also describes working alongside Rajkummar Rao as a valuable learning experience after sharing screen space with actors such as Rupali Ganguly, Shweta Tiwari and Manasi Parekh. “Working with Rajkummar sir is a masterclass every day.
You watch how experienced actors listen, adapt and elevate every scene. Their focus teaches you that true talent stays kind, prepared and generous on set,” she says.Reflecting on the transition from television to films, Princy believes both mediums demand different skills. “TV teaches you discipline, confidence and how to face the camera through constant work. Films require more depth, silence and attention to every expression. You bring your television experience with you, but you also learn to slow down and explore the character differently,” she says.Princy adds that she is grateful to be living her dream at a young age, with her parents' support. Before Anupamaa, she appeared in Main Hoon Aparajita alongside Shweta Tiwari and Manav Gohil, and played the lead in the Gujarati film Misri.
