District Collector P. Ranjith Basha on Wednesday ratified recommendations for setting up six eligible childcare institutions (CCIs) in the Kurnool district. He was addressing a review meeting of the District-Level Recommendation Committee here.
In tune with the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, the committee scrutinised applications from nine institutions administered by the government and NGOs. During the inspection of infrastructure and services, the committee found six units eligible having met the required standards.
Mr. Ranjith Basha underscored the importance of maintaining quality and child-friendly services in all CCIs. He informed the officials to administer the centres without any inconvenience to children, besides strictly complying with the child protection norms.
The Collector also reviewed the functioning of Juvenile Homes and Sishu Gruhas, directing the officials to submit relevant reports and updates on behalf of the ICDS.
Superintendent of Police Hussain Peer, ICDS Project Director Nirmala, Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Zubeda Begum, District Child Protection Officer Sharada, and members of the Juvenile Justice Board and Juvenile Homes were present.
