Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation (APTF) honorary president Bankuru Jogi Naidu on Saturday (August 2, 2025) asked the Union Government to implement academician Daulat Singh Kothari Commission’s recommendations to achieve the best education system while focussing on mathematics, science and technology which would enhance knowledge levels of students at par with international standards.

In a press release, he said National Education Policy-2020 had many flaws and it was not designed with the consent of all the States and not approved by the Parliament also.

“Kothari Commission recommended allocation of six per cent of GDP for the growth of education system and suggested 10 +2+3 formula for standardisation of studies across the country. It asked the government to focus on primary education but NEP-2020 had completely ignored the primary studies,” said Mr. Jogi Naidu. He asked the Union Government to take suggestions from all the States and make necessary changes in NEP-2020 to achieve the goals and ideals of Kothari Commission.
