Discussions have reportedly begun about restarting work on 'Indian 3,' the next part of the popular vigilante film series starring Kamal Haasan and directed by S. Shankar. The film was originally planned as a continuation of 'Indian 2,' which was released in theatres with a teaser glimpse of 'Indian 3' at the end.

However, after 'Indian 2' received a disappointing box office response, progress on the third part slowed down.

With the film’s future uncertain for several months, the makers are now reportedly discussing how to move forward with the remaining work.

Fresh discussions on 'Indian 3'

According to a report by The Hindu, talks are currently taking place regarding the next steps for 'Indian 3.' The report suggests that director Shankar wants clarity on the project before beginning work on his next film.

It is said that if he starts another major project, returning to complete 'Indian 3' may become difficult. Because of this, the filmmaker has reportedly stressed the need to finish the pending work on the film first.

The production team is therefore considering the best way to restart the project and bring it to completion.

Cast and crew of 'Indian 2'

'Indian 2' featured a large ensemble cast alongside Kamal Haasan. The movie featured actors such as Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Samuthirakani in important roles.

Anirudh Ravichander was the film's music director, and competent technicians were brought in for cinematography and other technical aspects. Despite the scale and expectations surrounding the film, it received mixed to negative responses from audiences and critics.

Next steps for 'Indian 3'

At present, only a few portions of shooting and several post-production tasks are reportedly pending for 'Indian 3.' As the remaining tasks require both time and hard work, producers are expected to be interested in completing them quickly. Director Shankar is also reportedly preparing to begin work on his ambitious project based on the historical novel 'Velpari.' Before starting that film, he is said to be looking for a clear decision regarding 'Indian 3.
