Arsenal target Arda Guler as they contact his representatives for a summer move from Real Madrid, amidst Chelsea interest.

Arsenal has made contact with Real Madrid’s Arda Guler’s representatives as they are plotting an ambitious summer move for the footballer, according to a report in Caught Offside. Mikel Arteta is keen to bring Güler to Emirates Stadium this summer as part of his team rebuild.

As per the report, Arsenal have reached out to Güler’s representatives to explore a potential move from Real Madrid. The club views him as a perfect fit after his standout season in Spain.

Güler has registered seven goals and 16 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. He is starting to establish himself in the starting XI at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, while the club’s managerial situation could influence his decision this summer.

“Arsenal have been in touch with those close to Arda Guler to see if there is any scope for discussing a transfer this summer. At the moment, he isn’t giving the green light," Mark Brus, who reported the interest, said.

But the report adds that Arsenal face a hard challenge, with Güler not considering a move away from Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Chelsea are monitoring his situation as they continue their push to recruit high-potential young talent.

Meanwhile, the development has come as a major shock to Güler, Real Madrid and the entire country with the attacking star, seen as key to Turkey’s hopes for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, suffering a serious hamstring injury.

Real Madrid have confirmed the injury in an official statement and while no recovery timeline has been provided, Güler’s season appears all but over.

Los Blancos have little left to play for, having been knocked out by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, stunned by second-tier Albacete Balompié in the Copa del Rey last 16 and now trailing leaders Barcelona by nine points with just six La Liga games remaining.
