BCCI have named their 15-member squad for the Asia Cup on Tuesday (August 19) with Suryakumar Yadav the captain with Shubman Gill his deputy. The Asia Cup cricket tournament will take place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 9-28, featuring eight teams competing in T20I format.
The Asian Cricket Council has confirmed all match venues, with Dubai hosting 11 games and Abu Dhabi staging eight, including the tournament opener between Afghanistan and Hong Kong.The tournament will see five full ACC members - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka - along with UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong split into two groups. This arrangement will continue for three years for tournaments hosted in either India or Pakistan.Team India begin their campaign against UAE on September 10 in Dubai, followed by a highly anticipated clash with Pakistan on September 14, also in Dubai.
Their final group stage match will be against Oman on September 19 in Abu Dhabi.The tournament structure then moves to the Super 4 stage, running from September 20-26. The top two teams from each group will advance to this phase. If India tops Group A, all their Super 4 matches will be played in Dubai.
