BJP leader Jayanta Kumar Goswami said the songs are meant to convey the government’s message of development, good governance and welfare initiatives to voters across the state.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was seen dancing to a BJP campaign song during a poll rally in Bongaigaon on Sunday, with party workers joining in as part of the party’s outreach ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

The Chief Minister had earlier launched three theme songs for the Assam Assembly elections 2026, aimed at taking the BJP’s vision to the people and building an emotional connection with voters.

“Several theme songs have been prepared by party workers for the polls. The songs have been penned and composed by BJP workers," CM Sarma said.

One of the songs, ‘Asomor Surakhya, Bikashor Protigya’ (Assam’s protection, promise of development), was written and composed by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita and sung by Rakesh Riyan.

Another track, ‘Lage Lage Lage Akou Abar BJP Sarkar’ (Need, Need, Need, BJP Govt Once More), was written by Vidyasagar Borah, chairman of the government-run Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio, and sung by Aranyam Dowarah.

BJP spokesperson Jayanta Kumar Goswami said the songs are meant to convey the government’s message of development, good governance and welfare initiatives to voters across the state.

The Assam Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on April 9, with the results set to be announced on May 4.
