Assam guv celebrates Holi with AR troops

Silchar: Assam governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya celebrated the festival of colours with Assam Rifles personnel on the campus of the 38 Assam Rifles in Srikona near Silchar on Wednesday, marking the occasion with cultural performances and an environmental initiative.The programme witnessed a festive atmosphere as the Assam Rifles pipe band played melodious tunes, adding to the spirit of the celebrations.One of the highlights of the event was a spirited Khukri dance performed by the troops of the 38 Assam Rifles, which showcased their warrior tradition and cultural heritage.As part of the celebration, a tree plantation drive was also organised on the campus to underline the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices.Addressing the gathering, Acharya praised the dedication and sacrifices of the armed forces in safeguarding the nation.
