The Karnataka Lokayukta sleuths who conducted searches at the residence and office of a supervisor of the Department of Survey, Settlement and Land Records in Dharwad on Thursday found assets worth ₹1.8 crore.
The raid was carried out at the residence and office of S.F. Siddanagoudar in the wake of complaints about possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Siddanagoudar is also Dharwad district president of the State government employees’ Association.
Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Siddalingappa led the raids. Simultaneously, searches were also carried out at his house in his native place Muragod in Belagavi district.
The raid went on for nearly eight hours during which it was revealed that Siddangoudar owned a residential house, three housing sites, three acres of land, ₹82,000 in cash, 443 grams of gold ornaments valued at about ₹35 lakh, 4.5 kg of silver ornaments, and a car worth ₹15 lakh.
The total value of the assets is estimated to be around ₹1.80 crore.
