ATM cash van driver flees with ₹17 lakh in Hyderabad

A driver employed with an ATM cash replenishment agency allegedly fled with ₹17 lakh from a cash van during a cash-loading operation in the IS Sadan area of Hyderabad on Tuesday (June 23, 2026).

The accused, identified as Srinivas, escaped with the cash while the replenishment team was servicing an SBI ATM machine on Milad Road along the Rein Bazar–Santosh Nagar stretch.

According to the police, the incident was reported between noon and 12:30 p.m., and a search operation was launched. Three special teams have been constituted to trace the accused. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to determine the route taken by the suspect and gather further evidence.

A case has been registered at the IS Sadan police station, and further investigation is under way.
