The entire robbery was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. Local residents noticed the incident early on Saturday morning and informed the police.

An India One ATM was looted by unidentified miscreants in Odisha’s Balasore district late on Friday night. The incident took place near Turigadia Market under the Khaira police station limits.

According to reports, the accused used a Mahindra Thar SUV to pull the ATM machine out of its kiosk before dragging it nearly 200 metres from the Turigadia bus stand.

After taking away the cash, the miscreants abandoned the damaged ATM machine on the roadside and fled the spot.

The entire robbery was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. Local residents noticed the incident early on Saturday morning and informed the police.

Soon after receiving the information, a team from Khaira Police reached the spot and began an investigation into the case.

Police begin probe

Police have not yet confirmed how much cash was inside the ATM at the time of the robbery. The accused are currently absconding. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and collecting other evidence to identify those involved in the theft.

Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects. Further investigation into the incident is in progress.
