Aurad hobli in Kalaburagi district recorded the highest maximum temperature of 45°C in Karnataka over the past 24 hours, ending 8.30 a.m. on April 15, as heat wave conditions tightened their grip across large parts of the State, according to a bulletin released by the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC).

The bulletin noted that several places in Kalaburagi, Raichur, Bidar and Vijayapura districts, along with parts of Yadgir and Bagalkot, recorded temperatures ranging between 42°C and 45°C on April 14. Isolated pockets in Ballari, Gadag, Koppal, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Chitradurga, Haveri and Vijayanagara districts also experienced similarly high temperatures.
