Shubhanshu Shukla Axiom-4 Mission Launch LIVE Updates: The Axiom-4 mission carrying India’s Shubhanshu Shukla and three others to the International Space Station is set to launch today. The weather is 90 per cent favourable for the launch, SpaceX said early Wednesday.
Carrying India’s Shubhanshu Shukla and three other astronauts, the mission is scheduled to take off from Kennedy Space Centre’s Complex 39A at around noon. After a 28-hour journey, the spacecraft is expected to dock with the International Space Station (ISS) at around 4:30 pm (IST) Thursday. The astronauts are slated to spend around 14 days on the ISS.
Setbacks it has faced in the past: The mission has been delayed several times since its initial schedule of May 29 due to various reasons, ranging from problems in the launch vehicle and changes in pressure on ISS’ Zvezda module. The leak in Zvezda was first detected in 2019 and space agencies have been working for years to fix it. Repairs were carried out ahead of the Axiom-4 mission.
