Badminton BWF World Championships Day 4, Round 16 LIVE Updates: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty, PV Sindhu and Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto will be in round of 16 action at the 2025 BWF World Championships in Paris on Thursday.
Five-time Worlds medallist Sindhu will resume her campaign in the ongoing edition, where she will take on world No 2 Wang Zhi Yi on Thursday. The 30-year-old, in her Round of 32 clash with Karupathevan Letshanaa from Malaysia, won 21-19 21-15 in straight games. Satwik-Chirag started off with a solid performance against Liu Kuang Heng and Yang Po Han, winning 22-20 21-13 in their first fixture. The ninth-seeded Indian pairing will take on the sixth-seeded Liang Wei Kang and Wang Chang of China in their Round of 16 clash, a battle of two pairs who have been world No 1 quite recently. Additionally, Thursday will also see Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto in action in their mixed doubles pre-quarterfinal clash. The pairing, in their previous round, had breezed past the Irish pairing of Joshua Magee and Moya Ryan with a scoreline of 21-11, 21-16 in 35 minutes. But they face an uphill task against Hong Kong’s world No 5 Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet.
