While the world is experiencing the wrath of the war and crisis, news that grabbed eyeballs was revolving around a viral Albino Buffalo in Bangladesh, which became popular for its resemblance to “Donald Trump” due to its flowing golden hair and distinct blond comb-over, is set to be sacrificed in just a few days.
The 1,500-pound animal has become an absolute online sensation, drawing hundreds of curious visitors eager to get a glimpse of the unique beast.An unusual namesakeThe buffalo's owner, 38-year-old Zia Uddin Mridha, explained that his brother originally named the animal after the US president because of its extraordinary hair. People have been traveling from all over to Mridha’s farm in Narayanganj, located near Dhaka, just to meet the local celebrity.
Mridha shared a story with The Daily Star about five friends and their relatives who remarked that the buffalo's features looked strikingly similar to Donald Trump.
He added that the hype is very real, noting, “My nephew took a one-hour boat journey to see Donald Trump.”The Spirit of the FestivalDespite its massive popularity, the four-year-old buffalo's time is running out. It is scheduled to be slaughtered along with 12 million other livestock as Bangladesh prepares to celebrate the upcoming festival of Eid al-Adha later this month.
Mridha has been personally caring for the animal since last year and admits the upcoming farewell will be tough. "I am going to miss Donald Trump," Mridha said. "But that is the core spirit of Eid al-Adha—making a sacrifice.
"Colorful Characters on the Farm"Donald Trump" isn't the only animal on the farm with a big personality or a famous name. He shares the space with several other notable companions who have caught the attention of visitors. Among them is an aggressive bull named “Tufan” (which translates to “storm”), a massive animal appropriately dubbed “Fat Boy,” and a much gentler creature named “Sweet Boy.” There is even another golden-haired bull on the property named after Brazilian football star Neymar, thanks to its bleached-blond haircut.
