Battery and tyre stolen from ex-cop's car in Lucknow

An unidentified person stole the battery and stepney of the car of former Inspector General (IG) NK Srivastava, parked outside the residence in Lucknow.

According to sources, the theft took place around 7.59 am on Sunday. The accused first removed the stepney of the car and later returned to steal its battery before fleeing.

After the incident came to light, Srivastava lodged a complaint at Gomtinagar Police Station, following which an FIR was registered.

Police have launched an investigation and are scanning surveillance footage to trace the accused.
