BDHC Kolkata hosts special evening to mark Welsh Day

On 27th February, the British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata hosted a networking dinner to mark Welsh Day, bringing together distinguished guests from across business, culture, education, and government.

The evening served as a vibrant platform to celebrate Wales’ rich heritage while strengthening professional connections and fostering new collaborations within the region.Among those present were Eoghan O’Regan, Head of India, Welsh Government; Frederick Roy, Government of Meghalaya; and Abu Mehta, Government of Nagaland, whose participation added significance to the occasion and reflected the growing engagement between Wales and India’s northeastern states.The dinner featured a thoughtfully curated menu and offered attendees an opportunity to experience a touch of Welsh culture, as they connected over shared interests and future prospects. The event reflected the British Deputy High Commission’s continued commitment to promoting regional engagement and deepening bilateral relationships through dialogue and collaboration.
