Belagavi will get two Ministerial berths, says Minister

Belagavi is certain to get two Ministerial berths. Whether a third legislator will be made a Minister will be left to the Congress high command, district in-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi said in Belagavi on Tuesday.

“It is natural for elected representatives to wish to become Ministers. But then, everyone cannot be accommodated in the Ministry. Belagavi being a big district is sure to get one more Minister,” he said.

To a query, he said that he has no idea as to whether Laxman Savadi will be made a Minister or not.

He said that it is common for Opposition leaders to organise political activities in his constituency of Yamakanamaradi.

“They keep happening. We will consider such questions during elections,” he said.

He said that no discussion has happened at the government-level about holding the monsoon session in Belagavi. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will take a decision on the issue, he said.
