BESCOM announces power outage in Bengaluru till February 9 for urgent maintenance, affecting several areas like Kavalbyrasandra, Sultan Palya, Divya Shanti and more.

Bengaluru will face a scheduled power outage that will last until February 9, with electricity supply disrupted for extended hours in several parts of the city, according to BESCOM.
The power cut, which began on Wednesday, will be enforced daily from 6 am to 10 pm for six days. The outage will largely affect areas in and around Hebbal and parts of north Bengaluru.
BESCOM said the shutdown is necessary to carry out urgent maintenance work. The utility stated that the maintenance is aimed at strengthening power infrastructure and ensuring a more reliable electricity supply in the future. During this period, however, residents, offices and commercial establishments in affected areas may experience prolonged disruptions.
According to a report in OneIndia, areas that were scheduled to face outages on Wednesday include Kavalbyrasandra, L.R. Bande Main Road, Gandhinagar, Chinnanna Layout, Ambedkar Layout, Anwar Layout, Cauvery Nagar, Ambedkar Medical College area, Sultan Palya, Ranka Nagar, Kanaka Nagar, KHB Main Road, Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, D.G.A. Halli, K.J. Halli, K.J. Colony, Adarsha Nagar, V. Nagenahalli, Periyar Nagar, Periyar Circle, Shampura, Kushal Nagar, Modi Road, Modi Garden, Doddanna Nagar, Muniveerappa Layout, Sugar Mandi, Salt Mandi and Muneshwara Nagar.
BESCOM also said power supply issues may be reported between February 4 and 9 in Divya Shanti, Govindpur, Karle, Brindavan Nagar, Titan Garage area, Bhairavi Apartments, Heggade Nagar, Chandrika Soap Factory area, BMTC Depot and nearby localities.
Residents in affected areas have been advised to plan their schedules in advance, ensure electronic devices are fully charged and make use of backup power systems where available. BESCOM said electricity will be restored after maintenance work concludes each day.
