An Air India pilot suffered a medical emergency before a Bengaluru-Delhi flight, delaying it on July 4. The pilot was hospitalised and is stable. Another crew member later operated the flight.

Air India flight AI2414 from Bengaluru to Delhi was delayed on Friday after one of the pilots suffered a medical emergency, the airline said in a statement.
The incident occurred in the early hours of July 4, when the pilot became unwell before operating the flight and was immediately taken to a local hospital.
“He is currently stable but continues to be under the supervision of doctors at the same hospital,” an Air India spokesperson said.
The flight later departed with another member of the cockpit crew operating it. The airline added, “Our immediate priority is to assist the pilot and his family to ensure his speedy recovery.”
Three weeks ago, an Air India Express flight from Kolkata to Hindon was delayed by seven hours on a Sunday due to a technical snag in the originally assigned aircraft. Flight IX1511, scheduled to depart at 7.00 am and arrive at Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad by 9.20 am, was affected.
In a statement then, an Air India Express spokesperson said, “Our Kolkata–Hindon flight operated, with a delay, due to a snag on the originally assigned aircraft.” Passengers were offered complimentary rescheduling or a full refund if they chose to cancel their journey.
