Residents across parts of Bengaluru and its outskirts should brace for scheduled power outages this weekend, as electricity supply agencies carry out planned maintenance and transmission upgrade work. The power cuts are expected to be long daytime shutdowns, affecting several residential, industrial and rural pockets.

According to officials, the outages are part of ongoing infrastructure strengthening works aimed at improving power reliability ahead of the summer months.

Power supply is likely to be interrupted on Saturday and Sunday, with outages expected to last through most of the day.

The tentative shutdown window is from 6 am to 6 pm on both days. However, officials have cautioned that restoration times may vary slightly depending on how quickly the maintenance work is completed.
