Bengaluru Woman Finds Intimate Videos On Reddit Four Years After Bumble Match Ended In Silence

A Bengaluru woman alleged that intimate videos from a 2022 Bumble date surfaced online without her consent. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

A 28-year-old woman from Bengaluru has filed a police complaint after allegedly discovering intimate videos of herself on the internet nearly four years after meeting a man through the dating app Bumble.

The matter came to light years later when the woman allegedly found videos of their private moments circulating on Reddit and another adult-content website. She claimed the videos had been uploaded without her knowledge or consent and alleged that her privacy had been violated.

According to the complaint, the woman matched with the accused on Bumble in November 2022. The two began chatting on the platform before exchanging their social media details and connecting on Instagram. Before meeting him in person, she said she cross-checked his Bumble profile with his Instagram account to verify that he was not using a fake identity or impersonating someone else.

After interacting online for some time, the two agreed to meet at the man’s apartment. The woman alleged that during the meeting, he offered her a drink, after which they became intimate.

She further claimed that following their meeting, the man gradually distanced himself. According to her, he eventually stopped responding to her messages and blocked her on all social media platforms, leaving her with no way to contact him. She said she did not hear from him again after that.

On June 19, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint, alleging that the intimate videos had been recorded and shared illegally. She sought strict legal action against the accused for the alleged unauthorised circulation of the content.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter. Officials are trying to trace the accused and ascertain how the videos were recorded, who uploaded them, and whether they were circulated on any other online platforms.

As part of the investigation, police are also examining the digital trail and gathering technical evidence related to the uploads. Meanwhile, the videos have been taken down from the platforms where they were allegedly posted. The investigation is underway.
