BEST bus driver suffers seizure, crashes into median near Vashi toll plaza; driver, 2 passengers injured

NAVI MUMBAI: A BEST bus driver ferrying passengers from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai suddenly suffered a seizure upon reaching the Vashi toll plaza on Monday night and crashed the bus into the road median before the toll booth. Two passengers sustained minor injuries in the impact. The driver and the injured passengers were rushed to NMMC Hospital in Vashi and were discharged after receiving treatment.API Ravindra Narode of Vashi said, "The BEST bus driver identified as Kiran Jadhav (32) was ferrying passengers from Wadala bus depot to Ghansoli. Around 9.50 pm, Jadhav suddenly developed seizure and lost control over the wheels. However, he crashed into the road media at the Vashi toll plaza.

The bus driver Jadhav sustained minor injuries to his nose as he banged on the steering wheel due to the impact of the crash. The two passengers sustained minor bruises on the hands.

The bus windshield shattered in the crash."Shashikant Chandekar, senior inspector of Vashi said, "Fortunately, the BEST bus driver did not developed seizure while plying on the Vashi creek bridge or else it was possible that the bus with full of passengers would have plunged into the creek."
