Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday accused the Congress and Left parties of spreading panic during wartime, urging citizens to remain vigilant against what he described as fearmongering amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

Addressing a gathering in Keralam, PM Modi said that at a time when the country should stand united, the opposition was indulging in politics. “During wartime, the Left and Congress are creating panic and fear in the country," he said.

He added that people should be wary of attempts to spread misinformation. “I want to tell the people that they should be wary of Congress and the Left for spreading fearmongering during wartime."

The Prime Minister said it was “very unfortunate that Congress is doing politics in such a situation," alleging that the party was making irresponsible statements to worsen the atmosphere. “Congress by giving such irresponsible statements want Indians to get desperate and start cursing the Indian government," he said.

Referring to the situation in West Asia, PM Modi noted that many Indians, including a large number from Keralam, are working in Gulf countries.

“You are aware of what is happening in West Asia. Many Indians are working there," he said, assuring that the government was extending full support.

“We are trying to provide all possible help to all the Indians stuck in the war zone," he said, adding that the BJP-led NDA government “will not leave a single Indian unsafe."

He expressed satisfaction that Gulf countries were taking care of Indian nationals. “We are satisfied that all Gulf countries are taking care of Indians… I am grateful to them… all embassies and missions are working 24×7 and are helping Indians," he said.

Highlighting past rescue efforts, PM Modi said the government had previously evacuated Indian nurses from Iraq during conflict situations. He also stressed that the government is working towards self-reliance in energy and other sectors during challenging times, asserting that India is making efforts to become self-dependent even amid global instability.
