Bharat’s mother postpones hunger strike after falling ill

Ara: The indefinite hunger strike planned by Bhojpur encounter victim Bharat Bhushan Tiwari’s mother from July 9 has been postponed after she fell ill on Thursday.After examining her, Shahpur primary health centre doctor Munna Prasad said, “Her blood pressure suddenly increased.

She has minor fever too.”Bharat’s brother Chandan Tiwari said, “The proposed indefinite hunger strike has been postponed at least till July 20 due to illness of my mother. She will sit on hunger strike after July 20 if the judicial probe doesn’t move forward.”Expressing hope of getting justice, Chandan added, “On Wednesday, our family members including myself got our statements recorded under the section 183 of the BNSS before the judicial magistrates at the Ara civil court.

Seeing the judicial process there, we were satisfied and hope that the judicial process will be completed at the earliest and we will get justice soon.”According to the family’s lawyer, after recording the statements of Bharat’s family members, the court will also record statements of other eyewitnesses, including co-villagers and flood victims of Jawaniya village, for whose rehabilitation Bharat had raised his voice.The family will also move the court seeking the release of Bharat’s cellphone, which was seized by police. They believe it may contain vital information related to the case.
