BHU’s cycle rally promotes health, environ awareness

Varanasi: To mark World Bicycle Day and promote health and environmental awareness under the ‘Sunday on Cycles’ and ‘Swasth Bharat’ initiatives, Banaras Hindu University organised a cycle rally on the campus on Sunday.BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi flagged off the rally at 6.30am from the Mahila Mahavidyalaya intersection. The VC urged students to adopt cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transport that contributes to environmental conservation and community well-being.The rally passed through the IIT intersection and the Computer Centre before concluding at the main gate of the Amphitheatre.Several senior academicians, university officials and students participated in the programme. The event highlighted the university’s commitment to encouraging physical fitness, reducing pollution and creating greater environmental awareness among members of the campus community.
