As India marks its 79th Independence Day, actress Shrutika Arjun, who is known for her appearance in Bigg Boss 18, shares her thoughts on what freedom means to her, the art that inspires her patriotic spirit, and her hopes for the country’s future.

Shrutika, who also showcased her culinary skills by winning the popular South Indian cooking reality show Cooku with Comali, speaks about freedom in a deeply personal way.“For me, freedom is the power to live life authentically, to express myself without fear, to dream without boundaries, and to make choices that match my values,” she says. On the music front, the song Ae Watan from Raazi really connects with her. “It’s a gentle yet strong reminder of love for our country — sung not with aggression, but with respect and devotion,” she shares.Reflecting on India’s journey over the past 78 years, Shrutika says she has seen remarkable progress. “We have grown from being a young, struggling nation to becoming a global force in technology, culture, and innovation,” she notes.

She also highlights the progress made in areas like women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and India’s ability to hold on to its traditions while making a mark on the world stage.Her vision for the country’s future is one which has balance and inclusivity. “I hope to see an India where development is equally spread between urban and rural areas, where education and healthcare are accessible to everyone, and where our unity in diversity remains our strongest foundation.
