Amaal Mallik reveals suffering from medical condition sleep apnea; carries a breathing support machine on the show

Bigg Boss 19 recently began with Salman Khan returning as host for the grand premiere on August 24. Singer Amaal Mallik, who is currently a contestant on the show, made several revelations on stage. He opened up about being clinically depressed and also suffering from sleep apnea, a sleep disorder.Sleep apnea is a condition in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, which can reduce oxygen levels in the body. Amaal has carried a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine, which delivers steady air pressure through a mask to keep the airways open during sleep. In one of the episodes, he was seen wearing the machine while sleeping. On the grand premiere, Amaal also spoke about the reason behind his participation in Bigg Boss 19.

He said, “Thanks to you. The songs are working, and that’s a blessing. But you were the one who gave me that start 10 years ago. Today, I’m about to do something different — and once again, you’re part of it. You’re lucky for me.”Talking about his sleep apnea, he shared, “I’ve a sleeping disorder so people might have to deal with my snoring problems.” He further added, “I think that happened because I found success a bit too early.

When you get that kind of success at 24, suddenly… I think I’ve mellowed down with age, slowed my pace a bit. So I thought, why not use this show to connect with all the people who’ve shown me love for the past 10 years? They know the music, but maybe not the person behind it.

I want them to meet the real Amaal, not the one whose words or tweets accidentally turned into headlines. That Amaal exists too, but I want to show why he is the way he is.”Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan, premiered on August 24. The season features several well-known personalities, including Gaurav Khanna, Ashnoor Kaur, Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, Baseer Ali, Tanya Mittal, Zeishan Quadri, Abhishek Bajaj, Nehal Chudasama, Neelam Giri, and Amaal Mallik, among others.
